A welcoming history of PDC members

In early 1999, Dennis Lee who was the Driver Education Chair for Porsche Club of America / Canada West Region was approached by non Porsche owners if they could participate in Porsche Club DE events. Since the local Porsche Club events were restricted to Porsche cars only, it prompted Dennis to explore the possibility of creating a drivers club. Beyond its contingent of Porsche owners, invitation was extended to BMW, Viper, Corvette and NSX owners to participate in 3 trial events organized to determine the viability of a drivers club. The resounding success of the trial events and the primary sponsorship of London Motorcars and Drivers Edge Autosport led to the creation of Performance Drivers Club (PDC). Founded late 1999 by Dennis & Justina Lee, Richard Bradhurst, Anthony & Lee-Ann Strelzow and Frank Micucci, PDC would become the first non-competition, recreational sports drivers club offering and promoting advanced driver education in BC, Canada.

PDC, a member club of CACC (Confederation of Autosport Car Clubs, official sanctioning body of amateur motor sports in BC), introduced its first full year of activities in 2000 and quickly became "home" to all who shared a passion for driving. As at December 2005, over 700 members with more than 1000 participations have been through PDC events. Today, these events are an assembly of diverse participants and automobile variety brought together by a common passion—driving!
