A Typical Day at a PDC Event

Only members in good standing can participate.

Tech Inspection

All members participating in his or her first PDC hosted event of the season will be required to have their vehicle inspected by any registered workshop or dealer (Vehicle Safety & Tech Inspection). Completed Inspection Forms (certified “Pass”) must be presented to the Tech Station at the event to be eligible to participate. Tech inspection requirements may vary depending on the Host Club. All participating vehicles (applicable at every event) must pass "On-Track" tech inspection (On-Track Inspection) before being permitted on the track. In ALL cases, members are responsible for the condition and safe operation of their vehicle.

Runs

Participants generally get 100 minutes (4 x 25 minute sessions) of track time for PDC hosted events. First time participants attend part 2 of their “Ground School”. Drivers are separated into four skill level Run Groups according to the Driver Grading System:

  • White Group - First Timer
  • Red Group - Novice
  • Yellow Group - Intermediate
  • Green Group - Advanced

Participants are assigned with in-car Instructors at various sessions and are given the opportunity to upgrade to higher run groups by satisfying the skills criteria set forth in each group. For events conducted by PDC's affiliate Host Clubs, we participate in accordance with their program.

Schedule

The day begins at 7:00 a.m. with tech ("On-Track") inspection for events hosted by PDC. Tech Station closes at 8:15 a.m. and participants must pass tech in order to participate. All drivers must attend a mandatory drivers meeting at 8.30 a.m and the first run group is scheduled on the track by 9:00 a.m. The event generally ends at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Registration

Members who register for an event will receive further instruction and confirmation by email. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Safety Gear

Participants are required to be equipped with safety gear. The types of safety gear required vary according to the level of run group (Driver Safety Equipment). Loaner helmets are available to first time participants for PDC hosted events only.
